Tourism Day - 27th September

“Millions of tourists, millions of opportunities”.

The World Tourism Day celebration was started by the United Nations World Tourism Organization in the year 1980 which is celebrated every year at 27th September. This particular day was selected as at this day the laws of the UNWTO came into force in the year 1970 which is considered as the big landmark for the global tourism as it aims to aware to people about the significant role of the tourism inside the international community as well as to exhibit how the social, economic, cultural, political values are affected by it globally.

Literacy Day - 8th September

The International Literacy Day was decided by the UNESCO at 7th of November in the year 1965 to celebrate it at 8th of September every year which was celebrated first time in the year 1966. It was started celebrating all over the world to emphasize the great importance of the literacy to the individuals, society and communities. Teacher's Day - 5th September

The day was marked for the celebration as Teachers’ Day since 1962 in respect and deference of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was born on 5th September, 1988. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great scholar, philosopher and teacher of modern India and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. He became the second President of India in 1962. Therefore it was only natural that his birth day would be celebrated to pay respect towards lakhs of unknown teachers across the country. It was his wish that instead of celebrating his birth day on 5th of September every year, it would be better to celebrate it as Teachers’ Day in whole of India.

India’s teacher’s day is different from the World Teacher Day which is celebrated on 5th of October every year in whole world.
